Atlanta, GA – Good Fruit Co. artist NAK is scheduled to release his debut solo EP, titled Ashley Court: Chapter 1, on Friday, September 22, 2017. The project will contain six tracks, featuring collaborations with SuperB, Sarah Lee, and Jae Jin.
Ashley Court: Chapter 1 is the first installment of NAK’s story. It explores his mundane life in the white suburbs of California as a Filipino-American who’s “not quite Filipino, but not quite American,” listening to Hip-Hop and playing video games. For listeners, it is a reminder that there is meaning in the mundane and that the mundane can be extraordinary.
Here are the official tracklist and album artwork:
- Kuya Brian (feat. SuperB)
- All Nighters
- White Rice
- Love’s Absence (feat. Sarah Lee)
- Translated Letters (feat. Jae Jin)
Every track on the EP is produced by labelmate Sam Ock, who has featured NAK on a number of his own songs as well.
The EP will be NAK’s first release since signing to Good Fruit Co. as an artist in October 2016. Watch the video announcement of the partnership here.
The second installment of Ashley Court, also featuring six tracks, is slated to release later this year.
Prior to joining forces with Good Fruit Co., NAK’s career has been marked with battle rap, thoughtful lyricism, and jazzy instrumentation. After the label’s involvement, listeners can expect the rapper to explore these elements even more deeply on Ashley Court—after all, Good Fruit’s slogan is Be You.
